This October Vykintas Baltakas’ Neon Sea (2019) for flute solo, ensemble, electronics and video will receive its first performances with Karin de Fleyt (flute), HERMESensemble (Antwerp), Kurt Ralske (video) and Centre Henri Pousseur (electronics) in Italy and Belgium.
The premiere will take place on Saturday 6 October at Biennale Venice, Italy.
The concert by the Flemish group HERMESensemble, founded in 2000 by conductor Koen Kessels, is a journey to the boundaries between visual arts and contemporary music. The works in the programme by Wim Henderickx and Vykintas Baltakas are conceived with visual artist and musician from New York Kurt Ralkse.
On Sunday 20 October Vykintas Baltakas Neon Sea will receive its second performance at Transit Festival Leuven, Belgium.
The Lithuanian composer Vikyntas Baltakas composes, NEON SEA, a new piece for Karin de Fleyt, solo flutist, and HERMESensemble, and will develop electronic material with the Centre Henri Pousseur (BE). An original video will again be made by Kurt Ralske.
Composers Edition is proud to present a catalogue of works by Vykintas Baltakas available through our website, to which Neon Sea will be added soon.
