January 2018 sees two performances of John Palmer’s Athena for solo piano by Heloïse Ph Palmer.
Of the myth of Athena Palmer writes “In the pantheon of ancient religions, the myth of Athena is possibly the most intriguing and diversified of all the gods. Throughout the years her image has been persistent in my dreams and I finally wrote this music perhaps in a state of trance in 1990 at Elstree, Hertfordshire. For some logically inexplicable reason the score disappeared and the music was forgotten almost immediately. Yet, it surfaced again several years later, in 2013”
Performance Details:
– January 7th 2018: Carl Loewe Haus, Löbejün, Germany; beginning at 5 pm
– January 20th 2018: Satyagraha Zentrum, Stuttgart, Germany; beginning at 7 pm
