Indiana University New Music Ensemble in a recording session

On the Thursday 6 May 8pm (EDT) Tonia Ko’s The Sea as Fallacy for wind quintet and piano will be performed by the Indiana University New Music Ensemble, conducted by David Dzubay.

This performance part of a virtual residency with the department. As alumna guest composer, Tonia will be speaking at the Composition Forum and giving masterclasses.

The concert will be streamed on IUMusicLive! and will be available on-demand afterwards.

Later in the month, Breath, Contained for bubble wrap and electronics will be performed by John Corkill, percussion, at University of Chicago SOUND/SITES concert stream.

… Corkill sculpts wonderful, curiosity-sparking performances that showcase the unique architecture at the University of Chicago. With drums, cymbals, chimes, bubble wrap, wood blocks, gongs, and more, Corkill takes advantage of the shapes, spaces, and surfaces of Mansueto Library and Saieh Hall to create one-of-a-kind musical experiences featuring the work of composers with deep ties to Chicago.
