Delft Chamber Music Festival

Monday 26 July 26, 9pm
Crusell Music Festival
Kalanti Church, Uusikaupunki, Finland
From 12 to 23 July Tonia Ko will be serving as core faculty member at the Young Women Composers Camp. The 2021 Festival is online, while still upholding its mission “to amplify the voices of young female and nonbinary composers, to allow them access to a high level of musical training, and to work towards a more equitable and diverse composition field”.
No matter how traditional or experimental the medium, Tonia Ko’s music reveals a core that is at once whimsical, questioning, and lyrical. She has collaborated with leading soloists and ensembles across a variety of media—from acoustic concert pieces to improvisations and sound installations. Recipient of numerous accolades including a Guggenheim Fellowship, Tonia’s music has been performed throughout the US as well as in Europe and Asia, and lauded by The New York Times for its “captivating” details and “vivid orchestral palette.” Recent commissions include projects with Spektral Quartet, Volti, Berlin Counterpoint, and Riot Ensemble.
Composers Edition is proud to present a range of works by Tonia Ko readily available for perusal and purchase, including Highwire for oboe and electronics.
