On Sunday 31 October, 7:30pm Stephen Roberts’ The Other Side of Silence for two brass bands will receive its premiere at the Royal Spa Centre, Leamington Spa by the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Brass Band (Ian Porthouse conductor) and The Shirley Band (Tom Stoneman conductor).
The piece is commissioned by Leamington Music. It celebrates coming through lockdown to hearing live music once again, with the title borrowed from George Eliot’s Middlemarch. George Eliot was born in nearby Nuneaton.
Leamington-born composer Robert Simpson’s Volcano is in the programme too.
Composers Edition is proud to present a range of works by Stephen Roberts available for perusal and purchase through our website, to which The Other Side of Silence will be added in due course.
