We are proud to welcome composer and conductor Richard Pantcheff to the Composers Edition family. Dividing his time between Johannesburg where he is Composer in Residence at the Anglican Church of St. George and Oxford where he specialises in choral conducting, he composers original, innovative works mostly in the genres of choral, organ and instrumental music.
His substantial output of compositions has been commissioned, performed, recorded, and broadcast all over the world. It is estimated that his works have been performed in at least thirteen of the colleges of Oxford and Cambridge Universities, as well as in many British cathedrals including St. Paul’s in London, Salisbury, Winchester, Christ Church Oxford. There have also been frequent performances in churches, cathedrals and concert-halls in the USA, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the Caribbean, South Africa and all over Eastern Europe.
Pantcheff’s music appears on at least eleven commercially-released CDs (with more in preparation) on labels including Orchid Classics, SOMM, Herald, and EM Records.
“It is great to be joining the Composers Edition community, especially as it is one where the composers’ interests are of such paramount importance, and where many of today’s leading contemporary composers choose to have their work presented to the public, in attractive and definitive editions.”
