Richard Birchall’s ‘Mirrors’ in dance performance

Richard Birchall

Richard Birchall’s eight-cello piece, Mirrors, has been choreographed and will be premiered with dance at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz this Thursday April 4th.

This choreographed performance features Klassen Annette Lopez (Dança) and Andreas Pözlberger (Violoncello), and is part of the event ‘Mirrors in time: An interdisciplinary project with dance and cello students to the music of Vivaldi, Piazzolla and R. Birchall’.

Mirrors was commissioned by the Park Lane Group and written for Cellophony during 2010, is a set of three short studies in musical reflections. Birchall tells us that

… the symmetrical bug infects the music itself, both within individual melodic ideas and in the structure of each piece as a whole.

Composers Edition is proud to present Mirrors, amongst other works by Richard Birchall’s, available for purchase through our website.
