Richard Baker ‘Learning to Fly’ with Shadwell Ensemble

Note: Sadly, Oliver Pashley will be unavailable for this concert, so instead of them performing Learning to Fly pianist Joe Havlat is going to perform Richard Baker’s ‘Breaking the Ground’.

On Monday 12 July Shadwell Ensemble will perform Richard Baker’s Learning to Fly conducted by 2020 Mahler Conducting Prize winner Finnegan Downie Dear and Oliver Pashley on solo basset clarinet.

The concert will not be open to the general public, but it will be streamed on Wednesday (available just for one day) on OnJam TV.

Learning to Fly was commissioned by the London Sinfonietta for ‘State of the Nation’. It received its first performance by Timothy Lines and the London Sinfonietta conducted by Martyn Brabbins in the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London on 11 April 1999.
