Odaline de la Martinez ‘Imoinda’ Performances in the USA

Odaline de la Martinez has received a grant from Opera America to produce a video of selections from her opera Imoinda – A Story of Love and Slavery. The video was played at the Opera America New Works Forum (which took place online) on the 31st of March. The Opera America New Works Forum is attended by opera companies from throughout the United States.

Also, The Crossing (Act II) from Imoinda will be performed in New York City this summer. It will be performed in a historic ship outside the NYC Maritime Museum. The Crossing portrays the Middle Way, the horrific journey taken by the enslaved people on their way to the Americas. Details of the performance and dates will be coming soon.
