Mario Pagotto’s Concerto Grosso for violin, horn, piano, string orchestra and timpani will be given its World Première in a series of concerts all over Italy in May! The concertino features: Francesco Lovato (violin), Guglielmo Pellarin (first horn of Orchestra Sinfonica di Santa Cecilia – Roma) and Federico Lovato (piano).
The Concert, freely inspired by the four elements (water, air, land and fire) is divided in three movements. As the title suggests, the piece refers to the Baroque Italian form of Concert of group. Here, while the three soloists (violin, horn and piano) dialog strongly with a string orchestra (and timpani), each soloist is also valorized as solo and as part of the concertino and contributes to create many different orchestral colours and musical situations.Mario Pagotto
