Larry Goves’ ensemble, The House of Bedlam will have their new CD Enclosure released by NMC on 26 March!
The album was entirely conceived and recorded independently in lockdown by the musicians of ensemble.

In April 2020, when I started putting together the music forEnclosure, COVID-19 meant that everyone wanted to be together, and the circumstances were really conspiring against it.So, despite the fact that these recordings were all made (and more than half of the pieces written or arranged) during lockdown, with each player recording at home and sending to me for editing and mixing, the music has been written or chosen to reflecton what it is to play together and to play apart. This collection, therefore, includes music played in obsessive unison, playedentirely independently, composed after the sounds were recorded, and in one case downplaying the importance of theinstrumentalist entirely.
Larry Goves
The music of Enclosure “strive for a virtual togetherness with unison melodies weaving their way through electronic clouds”, “lays on the tension of playing together and playing apart”, and “invites the performer to explore listening in a particular space and time”.
Larry Goves has five original works and and two arrangements of works by Claudia Sessa (c.1570-c.1619) in the album.
Watch here a [semi] secret video of one of the tracks, Larry’s arrangements of Claudia Sessa’s Occhi io vissi di voi:
The album has been receiving a really amazing response so far. Five of the pieces, half of the record, has been already featured on BBC Radio 3 Night Tracks and New Music Show.
