Sunday 12 June brings the launch event for Il Respiro del Suono / The Breath of Sound focussing in on the work of Daniele Venturi. Edited by the foremost musicologist of contemporary and C20th Italian music Renzo Cresti and written alongside in-depth discussion with the composer, it is based both on in-depth compositional analysis and interviews with fifty performers of Venturi’s music. Presented in both Italian and English The book deals with both conceptual and practical aspects of composition, musical poetics and the composer’s profound spirituality, exploring the ways in which mysticism, lyricism and intense artistic and artisan work on sound merge in close symbiosis.
Il Respiro del Suono / The Breath of Sound is available to purchase from Zecchini Editore.
During the presentation mezzo-soprano Virginia Guidi will perform the world premiere of Daniele Venturi’s Hanami (2022) on a poem by Issa Kobayashi. Hanami is proudly available for perusal and purchase through Composers Edition, as well as other works by Daniele Venturi.
