A composer of finely wrought works for both instrumental and vocal performers, Emma Ruth-Richards has worked with some of today’s finest musicians and ensembles over the past decade and been featured composer at festivals across the UK, Europe and the USA. She has composed for Britten Sinfonia, LSO Aftershock and three-times commissioned by the London Sinfonietta. Her skill and artistry have attracted the attention of many distinguished musicians, leading to commissions from Nicholas Daniel, Alexander Roberts, Hakan Hardernberger & Colin Curry, Guy Johnston and Skeku Kanneh-Mason amongst others.

Upcoming projects include a BBC commission for a song cycle with mezzo soprano Lucy Schaufer and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, A cello duet to be toured in 2020 by Guy Johnston & Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Dark Radiance for cellist Ani Aznavoorian and the Camerata Pacifica, California.
I’m delighted to be publishing my work here at Composers Edition and I’m excited for what this new direction will bring.
It is very encouraging to be invited to join such a respected community of so many compelling artists and I look forward to being supportive and supported – having just completed a large scale song cycle commissioned by BBC Radio 3 for Lucy Schaufer and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra to premiere in January 2020 it is perfect timing!
