In June 2015, the Choir of King’s College London recorded a CD in memory of their late and much-missed director, David Trendell, whose sudden death in October 2014 sent waves of immense sadness round the musical world in which he played a huge part. Several new pieces were commissioned for this project from David’s friends, colleagues, and former students, and money was crowdfunded from a large community of supporters of David and the choir in order to meet the costs of making the recording. The process was a challenging but inspiring one, while the making of the recording itself was a very happy and moving experience for his choir. Today sees the official release of the final product, and we hope you will take the opportunity to purchase and listen to this token of appreciation for the life and work of David Trendell.
‘In Memoriam’ features works by three Composers Edition composers, Rob Keeley, Silvina Milstein and Francis Pott, and is available via Presto Classical.
