Ian Stephens has arranged his Tunnel Vision Suite for Brass Band from Super Slow Way for The Brighouse and Rastrick Band who will premiere it Sunday 28 January at the Royal Norther College of Music, Manchester under the baton of David Thornton in a rather interesting programme featuring lots of new music.
Regarded by many as the best and most consistent ‘public subscription band’ in the world, the Brighouse and Rasterick Band was formed over 130 years ago through public donations given by the townsfolk of the adjacent villages of Brighouse and Rastrick that face each other across the River Calder in West Yorkshire). The concert will also feature the Elland Silver Youth Band.
Ian is currently a Composer Mentor on the Rushworth Young Composers scheme administered by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. This season I’m working with 17-year-old Liverpool composer/singer/clarinettist Joshua Quinlan.more details brighouseandrastrick.com
