On Sunday 15 May 7:30pm Kate Ryder performs Brian Inglis Four Pieces for toy piano at The Old Church, London N16 as part of the Stoke Newington Contemporary Music Festival.
These pieces were written for the pianist Kate Ryder and completed in January/February 2018. In the second piece a poem by the Irish artist Derek Shiel (1939-2017) is interjected between the instrumental gestures, and the final piece is notated with a graphic score and accompanied by an optional audio track (field recordings from Tbilisi and Mestia, Georgia, August 2017). The first piece is dedicated to the memory of Derek Shiel, who died while I was working on the ideas in July 2017.Brian Inglis
On Friday 20 May 1.30pm Brian’s Rupertsberg Songs Book One: 2 Antiphons will be performed by Kristina Ammattil at Middlesex University, London NW4 as part of a Study Day on Music, Spirituality and Genre.
