On Sunday 24 July, the internationally acclaimed pianist Clare Hammond will give a recital at the Hay-on-Wye, Hereford with a programme including Bach, Adès or Beethoven as well as three of Richard Whalley‘s Five Preludes .
As Richard says: “I think of the these preludes in the Debussian sense, in that each offers a glimpse of a distinct musical world built from a very small amount of musical material. I would encourage listeners to revel in their own associations and imagery. However, I have also suggested the following titles for the three that Clare will perform: Two Lines Transcended, A Butterfly Flaps Its Wings and Masquing the Medusa.”
