More good news as Composers Edition welcomes Daniel Saleeb who’s just made his BBC Singers debut with As de Cantar (available on the BBC iplayer until 14th February.
Saleeb’s compositional practice encompasses choral music such as Deus, qui hodierna (commissioned by Choir & Organ Magazine), organ works including Toccata on “Erhalt uns, Herr, bei deinem Wort” (commissioned by the London Festival of Contemporary Church for William Whitehead’s Orgelbchlein Project) and chamber works such as playful Chaconne (commissioned by the Workers Union Ensemble). He also writes for film and theatre and is Composer-in-Residence at Sheffield Music Academy, which will culminate in performances of his music for young musicians: The Adventures of Green Sleeves, The Boy Made of Bread, The Tramp and the Fiddle, and newly commissioned work Johnny Notehead Plays the Word Machine.
