On Wednesday 21st February, as part of its 90th birthday celebrations at BBC Hoddinott Hall, the BBC National will perform a brand new set of orchestral interludes by Mark Bowden, which as the composer writes;
Explore ideas relating to the sea and are partly inspired by Matthew Arnold’s lyric poem Dover Beach. There are elements of calm tranquility alongside more tumultuous oceanic roars. The interludes are dedicated to the memory of the wonderfully kind and dazzlingly talented Eva Stewart, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales’ Principal Piccolo, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
Tickets £11-£13
